Botox® Cosmetic,Restylane ® and JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel.

BOTOX®

botoxBOTOX®  Cosmetic injections are the fastest-growing cosmetic procedure in the industry, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). In 2001, more than 1.6 million people received injections, an increase of 46 percent over the previous year. More popular than breast enhancement surgery and a potential blockbuster, Botox® Cosmetic is regarded by some as the ultimate fountain of youth.

Botulinum Toxin Type A (Botox® Cosmetic) is a protein complex produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, which contains the same toxin that causes food poisoning. When used in a medical setting as an injectable form of sterile, purified botulinum toxin, small doses block the release of a chemical called acetylcholine by nerve cells that signal muscle contraction. By selectively interfering with the underlying muscles’ ability to contract, existing frown lines are smoothed out and, in most cases, are nearly invisible in a week.

Fillers

A very popular part of our Cosmetic Procedures Livonia-Detroit

fillers2Collagen is a naturally occurring protein found in the second layer of skin (the dermis) which “plumps up” the skin, joints, bones and ligaments. Injections counteract the effects of gravity, sun exposure and years of facial muscle movement by filling out sunken areas and smoothing lines for a rejuvenated look. Results may begin to fade in a few months, depending on the patient’s age, genetic background, skin quality, lifestyle and body site. Because of this, and because injections cannot improve severe wrinkles or deep folds, the procedure is often combined with facial resurfacing or plastic surgery for a more satisfying and longer-lasting outcome.

JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel

fillersJUVÉDERM™ is designed to smooth wrinkles, sculpt lips and shape facial contours. It is a clear, synthetic gel made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that is found throughout your body. It carries very little risk of allergic reaction. The most common areas for treatment are the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows) and the nasolabial folds (from the root of the nose to the angle of your mouth). With its unique ability to bind with water, Restylane remains in your skin for many months and it is approved by the FDA for lasting up to a year.

Sclerotherapy

Sclerotherapy is a safe and effective treatment that involves tiny injections of saline and dextrose solution to seal shut the unsighly veins without compromising your circulation.  Symptomatic varicose veins are covered by OHIP.  Ambulatory phiebectomy is a mini stripping done through small punctures for larger varicose veins.  This procedure requires no stitches and leaves no scarring.
